Type Classifications For Flutter App Designers
To be able to pair fonts effectively, you have to first get to know some terms of fonts and typefaces. Let’s start with type classifications.
ATYPI Classification
In the 1960s print designers got together and created a new typeface classification called Association Typographique Internationale(ATypI):
Venetian
Old Face
Transitional
Modern Face
Egyptian Slab
Sans Serif
Scripts
Hand Drawn
Blackletter
Non-Latin
Venetian
So named after the region of Veneto region of Italy that included Florence. It typically is a representation of roman type. Roman type have lowercase letters that show bilateral serifs at the termination of the stroke. Keep in mind that this a serif font.
